Sealants are routinely put on adult molars once they have fully erupted (ages 6 and 12); however, recently, sealants are being recommended to adults to reduce the amount of decay seen later in life. Sealants are a preventative measure used to protect the teeth from developing cavities and can be placed during an adult dental cleaning.
This service is available to all ages and will be recommended on a need basis per client. This service can be requested and performed during other services.
A Medit intraoral scanner is a dental device that significantly improves the patient experience during dental procedures. Here's how it benefits our patient:
Comfortable Impressions
The Medit scanner replaces traditional dental impressions that use messy, uncomfortable impression materials and trays. Instead, it uses a small handheld wand to quickly and comfortably capture 3D images of the patient's teeth and oral structures.
Fast and Efficient
The scanning process is much faster than traditional impressions.
Accurate Results
The digital scans produced are highly accurate, allowing for more precise fitting of dental restorations like crowns, bridges, and clear aligners.
Improved Treatment Planning
The 3D digital models created by the scanner allow us to show our patients detailed views of their teeth and explain treatment plans more effectively.
Enhanced Visualization
The scanner captures full-color, high-resolution 3D images that provide a more comprehensive view of the patient's oral health.
We feel that utilizing advanced technology like the Medit scanner, dental practices can offer our patients a more comfortable, efficient, and precise experience during dental procedures.
Dental x-rays (4 bitewings) are a set of four x-rays that show the teeth; two on each side, which are necessary to capture all the back teeth — premolars and molars.
The ADA recommends bitewing x-rays be updated annually for most adults and kids.
We can add this to any of our other services.
Panoramic radiography, also called panoramic x-ray, is a two-dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray examination that captures the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, surrounding structures and tissues. The jaw is a curved structure similar to that of a horseshoe.
Panoramic dental x-ray uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to capture the entire mouth in one image. It is commonly performed by dentists and oral surgeons in everyday practice and may be used to plan treatment for dentures, braces, extractions, and implants.
This exam requires little to no special preparation. Tell us if there is a possibility you are pregnant. You will need to remove any jewelry, eye glasses or metal objects that might interfere with the x-ray images. You will be asked to wear a lead apron to protect the rest of your body from any radiation exposure.
Mouth guards have many purposes, and can help treat conditions from teeth grinding to sleep apnea. They also protect your mouth from sports-related injury.

The Crucial Role of Retainers
While the initial treatment phase is essential, maintaining your new smile is equally important. Here's why retainers are a critical part of your orthodontic journey:
By understanding the importance of retainers and following your orthodontist's instructions, you're investing in the long-term success of your treatment. Remember, your dedication to wearing your retainer will help ensure that your beautiful new smile lasts a lifetime.
